Today was a day off (a P-day) and we decided to go to Ostrog. The Monastery of Ostrog is a monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church
placed against an almost vertical background, high up in the large rock
of Ostroška Greda, in Montenegro. It is dedicated to Saint Basil of
Ostrog. It was a beautiful drive and interesting place to visit. You actually went into a room where St. Basil is in a coffin and some of the people before us kissed the coffin, later we went down the stairs to another Monastery, where they had the hands of Saint Basil in a glass case. Interesting day.....
This is the view from the Monastery....Exceptional!
That's really cool. I want to go there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, green countryside. Sometimes people do the strangest things -- as they try to honor a revered man. Keep up the good work. We are all interested in seeing what you are doing. Line dancing continues, despite the heat. Wish it would rain.
ReplyDeleteWe love reading your updates and hearing about the area you are serving in. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
