Well, February is here and it still is nice here in Podgorica.  They say spring comes in March here...kinda like Mesquite....

The month of Jan was mostly spent reviewing our pending projects.  The country here has a holiday for what seems like the whole month of January.  The kids are not in school, the government offices are closed, etc.  So not much was accomplished but paperwork at home.

But later in January, LDS Charities purchased school supplies for the refugee children here at Kamp Konik in Podgorica.  Some of the children are being fed into main stream schools, but most of them go to a satellite school at the camp.  They do not have money for school supplies so LDS Charities approved the purchase.  Then a couple of weeks later, we went to the Red Cross warehouse and assembled all the kits.

Our assembly line......

Job completed in just over 2 hours...  Vaselj, Elder Merl, Elder Miner, E/S Westwood.  We also purchased book bags but they will be given to the children at the beginning of next school year.

The next week the Red Cross handed out the school supplies at the refugee camp and was interviewed by the press..we were surprised that there were 5 TV stations there and several newspapers.  Must have been a slow news day. :)

Here is the news report.  You won't understand the language but you will get the idea....

Beautiful scenery!  We took one of our members to lunch here for his birthday.
