June 2014

Hi Everyone,

This month has been extremely busy.  We have visited several NGO's that work with the Elderly or with Handicapped Children or adults and a center for abused women and children.
This is a picture of the Women's Safe House in Niksic, Monenegro
They have a large yard and a nice veggie garden
The main floor is completed but the upstairs bedrooms/bathrooms are not finished.  They have some fixtures that a hotel gave them but all the occupants are living and sleeping in the living room/kitchen on the main floor.  We are going to try to help them finish the other floors so they can use this center as it was intended.
Next, our vision doctor came from the USA and we were able to begin a project for a major Vision Project this year too.  This years donation will go to the Children's Eye Clinic.
After meeting with the Eye Doctors we went sight seeing.  This is Dr. John Lyman and us in Stari Bar.

This is a Day Care Center for Handicapped Children in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro.  They are asking for some playground equipment for the children which I think we will be able to provide.

This is the senior center in Niksic

This is inside the Senior Center and they would like us to provide a projector and Computer and DVD player so they can watch movies, learn to use a computer and also use it for educational purposes.

I had Russ stand by this gnarly old tree...hummmm kinda like.......oh never mind!
Tram in Dubrovnik where we met our Wheelchair specialist from Utah.

The Cullimores (Wheelchair Specialists)from Cottonwood Heights, UT

Lunch at Niagara  (where there are beautiful waterfalls and lots of animals roaming around) Beautiful!

We went to Budva to visit some wheelchair recipients to see how the chair was working for them and what they thought of how they were trained to use it.  Lots of positive comments about the program.  This man lost both of his legs in a traffic accident.  But I was amazed at his positive outlook.  He lives with his brother and sister-in-law.

The next recipient lived up in a village and they are really isolated.
He lives with his family in a home with no running water or bathroom.

The path to his home......

Up the spiral staircase to church on Sunday. Sister Westwood and Cullimore.

The beautiful Morača canyon just outside of Podgorica...
That's all for now!  See you in 6 months!
